She believes that for minor injuries & accidents that the GP is the first port of call.

One of Dr Miller’s new interests or specialisms, outside GP, includes 10yrs doing stem cell therapy for various degenerative diseases.

Dr Miller’s specialisms include “more complex interventions”

1) ‘Minor’ Complex & Skin (cancer) Surgery – assessment & removal of more serious skin (cancer) lesions (including on face, fingers).

Separately, Dr Miller plans to continue her stem cell injection therapy for joint and many other diseases, to be run out of out of our AMH clinic.

Dr Anne-Thea McGill

MBChB, FRNZCGP, FRACGP, PhD

With more than 30 years in general practice, Dr. McGill is a trusted partner for families across generations.   She is known for her, thoughtful approach, & is passionate about demystifying health information, helping patients manage chronic conditions with practical, sustainable plans. Families value her ability to listen deeply & guide them with clarity.

Dr McGill’s PhD, in nutrition & overweight, shapes her focus on eating & all gut issues, & prevention particularly of related diabetes, heart, kidney & brain issues. This is metabolism medicine & long‑term preventive health care.

Dr McGill will have Special Clinics in

1) “Preventive ‘Metabolism’ Clinic”. A non-judgemental chat about where people ‘are at’ with respect to weight, eating, gut, nutrition, and ‘metabolism’ health, will be followed by detailing a questionnaire on ‘attitudes/habits/situation’ (or if preferred ‘lifestyle’) to take away. Body measurements (including with-in clinic body composition, central overweight etc) will be taken. Some new human science about nutrition/behaviour/metabolism will be discussed and ideas swapped. Funded laboratory tests will be ordered. A plan, with follow up visits, is helpful to review tests, positive changes made, and problems/misconceptions experienced. Appropriate individual &/or family tasks will be advised, medications may be prescribed, or only if wanted, even bariatric surgery discussed.

2) Chronic condition management. Nutrition-related diabetes, polycystic ovaries etc management may need updating. Causes of sleep apnoea, gut issues etc can be misdiagnosed or not well treated. Devastating autoimmune diseases (eg Rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s intestinal disease, Thyroid, Type I Diabetes) and some cancers, associated with faulty immunity, may also have nutrition/habits/situation causes. (ie often people are misled by various industries about unhealthy nutrition/exposures to manmade chemicals). There are ways of managing some of these dietary issues, in economical ways, & if possible, getting physically fitter plus taking well-chosen medications.

Dr McGill will deal with some conditions involving special ACC programs such as Concussion clinics, & MRI for ACC spine & knee injuries.

Dr. McGill is committed to advancing community wellbeing through education & outreach, strengthening the North-East Wakatipu Basin’s residents’ health for the future.
